Slieve Donard Forest

Slieve Donard Forest

When one of my friends came over to visit we decided to hike up the highest peak in Northern Ireland, Slieve Donard, a 850m (2790ft) mountain in County Down and what an amazing experience it was. We started our hike through a forest for 2km before it cleared into the valley, and that is where I took this image. By this point we had been walking for only half an hour and I had already taken well over 100 images but this was one of my favourites. The way the light shone through the trees created beautiful shadows. I thoroughly enjoyed this hike and this was only the start of amazing sites to come.
